The Quarterly Competition is open to any member currently in good standing. Ribbons are given quarterly based on points awarded to each entry in three skill levels from three independent judges. Points are accumulated through the year to determine the Photographer of the Year Award. Judges share their opinions on each photograph’s strengths and/or weaknesses. These comments are intended to be beneficial to each photographer’s development.
For this year, the maximum length of the outside edge of the mat (or if no mat) is to be 24 inches and the minimum length is to be 16 inches. Basically, anything that fits into those perimeters will be accepted. Artists are encouraged to make an “artists” statement (keep it to two sentences) about their image to give the judges a better idea on what the artist is trying to convey. If you plan to have your images exhibited, you can submit an 11x14 image in a 16x20 mat. That is acceptable also.
